Who we are and what this policy covers

FashionViral is operated by Fashionviral Ltd, Al Sufouh 2, Al Sufouh, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("FashionViral", "we", "us" or "our"). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide why and how it is used. You can contact us about privacy at any time at [email protected].

This policy applies to fashionviral.net, to the place pages published on its subdomains (such as name.fashionviral.net), to the listing pages for cities, states and categories, and to the forms on those pages (together, the "website"). If you use our iOS or Android apps, the privacy information shown in the app and on its App Store or Google Play listing also applies. This policy does not cover the websites of the businesses we list or other sites we link to; they have their own privacy policies.

Information you give us

You can use the website without telling us who you are. We only receive information about you directly when you choose to contact us:

• Add Your Business form: business name, type of business, city, address, website, Google Maps link, your name, email address, phone number and your message.
• Contact form: your name, email address, the topic of your message, the page concerned and your message.
• Email: your email address, the content of your message and any attachments you choose to send.

Please do not include sensitive information, such as health details, identity documents or payment card numbers, in a form or an email. We do not need it and we do not ask for it.

When a form is sent, we also record the date and time, the form used, your browser's user agent and a one-way coded value derived from your IP address. This lets us block spam and limit repeated submissions without storing the IP address itself.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting servers automatically receive technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page you request, the page that referred you and the date and time of the request. These server logs are used to keep the website secure, to diagnose problems and to understand load. They are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

We, and the Google services we use, also use cookies and similar technologies such as local storage and pixels. A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser that lets a website recognise your browser on later visits. The sections below explain which ones are used and why.

Cookies we use

The table below lists the main cookies used on the website. Names and durations are set by the providers and may change; durations are typical maximums.

The website itself does not need cookies to work. The short-lived values the forms use to block spam are kept in the page, not in a cookie.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the website: which pages are read, how long visits last, how visitors arrive (for example from a search engine or a social network) and which types of devices they use. Advertising and Google Ads

FashionViral is free to use and is supported by advertising. We use Google advertising services, which may show ads on our pages and measure how well our own ads perform on other websites.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet. Ads may therefore be personalised to your interests, or non-personalised, based for example on the page you are reading and your general location.

Advertising never decides which places are listed in the guide, how they are ranked or how they are described.

Google Maps embeds

Place pages include interactive maps provided by Google Maps so that you can see where a place is and get directions. When a page with a map loads, your browser connects directly to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and information about your browser, and may set or read cookies. If you are signed in to a Google account, Google may associate this with your account.

This information is collected by Google under its own privacy policy and terms; we do not receive it. If you prefer not to load Google Maps, you can block third-party content in your browser, although maps will then not be displayed.

Your cookie choices

Where the law requires it, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other places with similar rules, analytics and advertising cookies are only used after you have given your consent, and you can change your choice at any time. Elsewhere, you can refuse or remove cookies at any time through your browser settings:

• Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Prevent cross-site tracking.

Blocking cookies does not stop you from using the website, but embedded maps may not work and the ads you see will be less relevant.

Information about businesses and public reviews

Place pages describe businesses using publicly available information: names, addresses, opening hours, phone numbers, photos, ratings and short extracts from public reviews. This information mostly concerns businesses rather than individuals. Where a review extract is shown, it is shown under the reviewer's public display name at most, never with their contact details.

How we use information and our legal bases

We use personal data only for the purposes described below. Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, each purpose relies on one of the following legal bases:

We do not use your personal data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Who we share information with

We do not sell the details you send us through our forms, and we do not share them with the businesses we list unless you ask us to. We share personal data only with:

• Service providers that run the website for us, such as our hosting and email providers, who may only use it to provide their services.
• Google, for analytics, advertising and maps, as described above.
• Authorities, courts or advisers, when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
• A buyer or successor, if our business or its assets are sold or reorganised, under the same protections as this policy.

International transfers

Our service providers, including Google, may process personal data in countries other than your own, including the United States. When personal data is transferred, we rely on the safeguards that the law provides, such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions, and on our providers' contractual commitments to protect it.

How long we keep information

• Form submissions and emails: as long as needed to handle your request, and for up to 24 months afterwards, so we can follow up on a listing or a correction.
• Spam-protection records: no longer than one hour for the request limit and for the life of the submission record otherwise.
• Server logs: for a limited period set by our hosting provider, then deleted.
• Analytics data: according to the retention settings of Google Analytics.

We keep information longer only when the law requires it or to resolve a dispute. You can ask us to delete your submission earlier.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, the EU and UK GDPR and US state privacy laws, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
• Correct personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Delete your personal data.
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it.
• Receive it in a portable format.
• Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before.
• Opt out of the "sharing" of personal data for targeted advertising, where US state laws give you this right.

To use any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We will reply within the time the law requires, usually within one month, and may ask you to confirm your identity first. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.

Visitors in the United States

In the last 12 months, the website has collected identifiers (such as name, email address and IP address), internet activity (such as pages visited) and approximate location, from you and from your browser, for the purposes described in this policy. We do not sell personal information for money. The use of advertising cookies by Google may count as "sharing" for targeted advertising under some state laws; you can opt out using the links in the advertising section above, by blocking cookies or by contacting us. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Children

FashionViral is a general audience website and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Form submissions are stored on our server in a location that is not publicly accessible, and access to them is limited to the people who need it to handle your request. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information and will act promptly if we become aware of a breach.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, our providers or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If a change significantly affects how we use your personal data, we will highlight it on the website.
