The Kering Group takes a firm step in a complex moment for the fashion industry and reinforces its leadership with three new namesThe entrepreneur Jean Liuthe entrepreneur Tidjane Thiam and the actress and activist Emma Watson. The news, which was announced on the group’s Instagram account, broke yesterday after Kering’s shareholders approved this measure – which was proposed by the Board of Directors in March 2020 – during the group’s Annual General Meeting.
Watson, who rose to fame for representing Hermione Granger in the film adaptations of Harry Potter, is the celebrity that most inspires an entire generation (according to a study carried out in the United Kingdom) and its role in favour of feminism and the fight against climate change is one of the causes in which it has been most involved in recent years. Her hard work on behalf of the environment has led her to to become the Chair of the Kering Group’s Sustainability Committee. Thiam has been appointed Chairman of the Audit Committee.
